Blog Entry 1: Technology Integration-Working Definition
Technology integration is a series of actions teachers take to incorporate technology into the curriculum in order to provide students with a rich learning experience. To ensure this rich learning experience, teachers first need to be trained on and/or with the technology they intend to incorporate. The technology should be accessible to students to enhance their work. It should also help motivate students and encourage them to be interactive with the technology, itself, and/or in class discussion. Teachers should be sure to use technology as a different mode of presentation that forces students to engage in higher-order thinking. The technology used should be appropriate for the task at hand, for instance, using a video clip to enhance a presentation and an interactive game to review material. Finally, technology integration should include instruction on using technology in a manner that is both appropriate and constructive.

I really agree with your statement above. I think the dilemma in integrating technology is how to make it acessible to both instructors and students, if not, simultaneously to promote a collaborative environment.
ReplyDeleteI also like your blog layout as well!
I agree. We teachers should pause often and ask, "What makes learning rich?" and then daydream about what can be. What are the possibilities? Truth be told, sometimes I get a little bogged down, a little too focused on the to-do list and forget to explore exactly what could enrich a lesson.
