Comic Life Introduction

The Comic Life example I created was to be used in an upper elementary to a middle school setting to demostrate and/or review the scientific method. Using Comic Life to teach or review the scientific method is a great way to get students actively engaged and gives them an opportunity to ask questions or express concerns without feeling intimidated or pressured. I felt like this was a good way teachers to address any misconceptions students might have by making the instructions fun and familiar. I used SpongeBob Squarepants as my subject to make funny comments about the steps of the scientific method.

  1. Once you've modeled the "steps + humorous comments," will students be given a chance to try this approach? Students might be more excited about presenting factual knowledge if they jazzed it up with some wit. Might depend on the students . . .
