Blog Turnover: Entry B

The most excellent feature about the blog to me was the magnitude at which collaboration is promoted. It was always easy to comment on other group members' posts either on the group blog or the individual blogs. I think the collaboration aspect makes developing higher order thinking skill seem effortless (if they even realize they're doing it) to the students. If students are forced to make meaningful comments on others' blogs, they are forced to actually THINK about the subject. I think aspect of blogging will help teachers tremendously because it will make their work much easier, and students will complete the task WILLINGLY.

  1. Zena's article summary about blogging adds to your idea --- yes, students will willingly engage in HOTS if the teacher has done a good job of getting them thinking and talking in the right direction. As a blogger, I discovered that some blogs are easier to comment on than others b/c they promote thought or invite discussion. As usual, a little planning goes a long way!
